LINCOLN, Neb. -- A 30-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to a Lincoln stabbing.

Lincoln Police say Kristen E. Ellmers was identified as a suspect in the Oct. 5 stabbing of a 16-year-old, and she was taken into custody Wednesday evening.

According to LPD, the 16-year-old girl was found with a stab wound to her left arm. Witnesses told officers that two men were initially involved in a fight when a woman, later suspected to be Ellmers, became upset and yelled a racial slur at the two men.

At that point, police claim, the 16-year-old became upset and confronted Ellmers, engaging a physical fight with her. At some point during the altercation, LPD said, Ellmers allegedly pulled a bladed-weapon and cut the 16-year-old.

Officers said the suspect, who they identified as Ellmers approximately a week later, fled on foot.

She was located on S. 11th Street and jailed on charges of second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
