LINCOLN, Neb. -- An employee at a Lincoln store reported that his and his family's life were threatened during a robbery.
The Lincoln Police Department said officers were at the Kwik Shop, 2302 Cornhusker, around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday for a follow-up on an unrelated case. The store clerk reportedly told the officers that they had just been robbed an hour before.
Officers said the 25-year-old victim reported an unknown man entered the store at 12:30 a.m. and offered to trade marijuana for merchandise and cash. The victim told officers he declined the offer and the man left the store.
According to authorities, the victim told them that the man came back to the store at 3:45 a.m. and threatened to kill the victim before he selected $25 worth of merchandise. The man reportedly threatened to kill the victim again, along with the victim's family, if he told anyone about the incident. This led to the victim's hesitancy in calling the police.
LPD said no weapons were reportedly displayed and the investigation of this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
