Two Lincoln gas stations shoplifted

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department is investigating two similar shoplifting events. 

LPD reportedly shopliftings at two separate USTOP locations in Lincoln. 

Tuesday morning, authorities said they responded to a shoplifting call at 9:27 a.m. to the USTOP at 942 S 27th St. 

LPD officers said they spoke with the store manager, who reportedly told them the overnight employee notified him of a shoplift happening around 2:00 a.m. 

It was reported that two males had entered the store, with one of them holding the door and the other removing the display case containing vape cartridges. 

The loss of all the cartridges and the display case was estimated at $950. 

On Wednesday morning, LPD said they received a call for shoplifting at 4:33 a.m. at another USTOP at 3244 Cornhusker Hwy. 

LPD reported that the store employee reported two males had entered the store, with one asking for ice and the other grabbing the display case for the vape cartridges. 

The display reportedly contained three cases, with about 30 cartridges a case. 

The total loss was estimated to be $700

LPD did not specifically say the incidents are related, but they are both being investigated simultaneously.
