The National Weather Service is keeping an eye on the potential for severe weather Tuesday night.

A majority of Nebraska is under at least a slight risk for severe weather while a stretch from as far west as Sidney to Beatrice to the east and Hyannis to the north into Kansas in the south is under an enhanced risk.

The NWS office in Hastings says the main threat riming is between 7 and 11 p.m. for those in central and eastern Nebraska. There is already a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in place for much of western Nebraska. The biggest threats include large hail, damaging winds of up to 75 miles-per-hour and localized flooding.

An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Fairly widespread storms are expected to move from northwest to southeast across the area.
