LINCOLN, Neb. -- The History Nebraska Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Jill Dolberg as the Interim Executive Director of History Nebraska. Dolberg has worked for the organization for 22 years and currently serves as the Director of Historical Resources and Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer.

"We are pleased to make this appointment," said David Levy, President of the History Nebraska Board of Trustees. "Jill Dolberg is a top-notch professional who is well-versed in the organization's management. History Nebraska is doing important work for the state. Ms. Dolberg will ensure the organization keeps its momentum."

Dolberg holds an MA in Public History from Colorado State University and has coordinated History Nebraska's digitization efforts, which have placed over 15 million digital objects online since 2020.

The decision comes after the announced departure of Trevor Jones. He led the organization for six years while emphasizing digital and programmatic engagement while increasing staff size and budget.

Levy said it is the Board of Trustees' intention to begin a nationwide search for a new Director and CEO. A timeline for this effort has yet to be determined.
