Pepper spray, handcuffs, badge reported stolen from correction worker's car

A Nebraska State Penitentiary worker reported several items missing from their car early Tuesday.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Handcuffs, pepper spray and a badge were all reported stolen from a state corrections worker's car on Tuesday.

Lincoln Police was called to the 8200 block of Cheney Ridge Road, where they say a Nebraska State Penitentiary worker reported several items missing from their car, including the employee's work belt.

The employee told police that they believed the vehicle had been locked.

No damage to the vehicle was observed by the officer.

The incident remains under investigation.
