Winter Weather Advisory issued for portions of southeastern NE, northern KS

Even though the calendar says Spring, Mother Nature isn't quite ready to give up on Winter just yet.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of eastern Nebraska and north central Kansas.
The Advisory goes into place at 1 a.m. Tuesday and will in place until either noon or 1 p.m. Tuesday, depending on location. The National Weather Service says 1-3 inches of snow are possible with locally higher amounts possible in some areas.
Winds gusting from 40 to 50 miles-per-hour combined with the precipitation will make travel difficult in areas.
Counties included in the Advisory are: Jefferson, Saline, Thayer, Fillmore, Clay, Nuckolls, York, Seward Adams, Webster, and Hamilton counties in Southeast Nebraska.
Republic, Cloud, Ottawa, Jewell and Mitchell counties in Kansas are also included.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts of 4 inches. North winds gusting as high as 55 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east central and south central Nebraska.
* WHEN...From 1 AM to 1 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of strong winds and falling snow can lower visibilities to less than 1 mile at times. Rain will change to snow from northwest to southeast. Some locations south and east of the tri-cities may not transition to snow until near dawn.
