BEATRICE - Race fans will have to wait one more day for the green flag to wave in southeast Nebraska.

Inclement weather has forced Beatrice Speedway to push back the first day of the event from 5:30 Friday to 6:30 Saturday, per the tracks Facebook page. The second day of racing will now be on Sunday at 1 PM.

Rain and wet snow made its way through southeast Nebraska Thursday night into Friday morning. Beatrice received 35-hundredths of an inch of rain overnight, before a band of wet snow came through.

A handful of drivers were able to participate in the tracks 3-hour practice session on Thursday night, before rain began to fall shortly before 8:00 PM.
