BEATRICE – A former Casey’s General Store in south Beatrice is being demolished, this week.

The building was damaged in an accident and fire last year when a vehicle veered off a U.S. Highway 77 viaduct just south of the store and struck the building.

The impact set off a fire along the south side of the business.   The Des Moines, Iowa-based corporation opted not to rebuild the store.   It has three other stores in Beatrice.
