BEATRICE - The Beatrice Orangemen used two late 7-0 runs to mount a comeback over the York Dukes, earning win number seven, 44-42.
Despite not having led since the first quarter, Beatrice went on a late game tear, erasing a 7-point Dukes lead to tie the game with just over 20 seconds to play, as Elliot Jurgens picked the pocket of York point guard Garrett Ivey. He turned it into two points.
The Dukes hit two quick triples early in OT, but Beatrice answered. York struggled at the free throw line all night -- they were 2-10 when it was all said and done. After missing the front end of a one-and-one, Jurgens would find Shelton Crawford for a deep, game tying triple with :43.6 remaining.
:43.6 later, Beatrice would win the game, taking advantage of a pair of missed free throws by York. Jurgens capitalized, floating in the game winner. Watch the video above to see the shot for yourself! (Audio from the game broadcast on 94.7 FM/1450 AM KWBE)
Beatrice was led in scoring by none other than Elliot Jurgens, who dropped 13. The Orangemen improve to 7-2, but they'll be on short rest, as the Seward Blue Jays await tomorrow night.
