Man threatened with gun after confronting another for stealing his pickup

Police are investigating a stolen vehicle after the victim came into contact with the suspect.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Police are investigating a stolen vehicle after the victim came into contact with the suspect. 

Lincoln Police said that on Thursday officers were called to the Jet Splash Wash on 9th street for a weapons violation. 

Police said that when they arrived they spoke to a 38-year-old man who reported he saw he 1997 Ford F150 driving down Hwy 2. 

Authorities said the man told them that the pickup had been stolen on November 7. The man said he saw the truck stop at the car wash where he spoke to the driver. 

Police said the victim reported that he explained the pickup was his and that he was calling police. 

Authorities said that the suspect then pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the victim before fleeing the area on foot. 

Officers said they searched the area but were not able to find the suspect. Officers processed the vehicle for evidence and are seeking video nearby. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
