Chadron duo punch tickets to state golf

The Chadron High girls golf team lost a tiebreaker to Ogallala for the 3rd and final state meet team berth at Monday’s B-4 district meet in Sidney.

The Chadron High girls golf team lost a tiebreaker to Ogallala for the 3rd and final state meet team berth at Monday’s B-4 district meet in Sidney.

The Cardinals and Indians had identical scores of 425. Scottsbluff ran away with the title with a score of 355. Gering was 2nd with a 415.

Chadron will send a pair of individuals who easily put together top 10 rounds. Gracie Jones shot a round of 95 for 6th place and Maralee Rischling took 7th with a 99.

Both will now compete at next week’s state meet at Scottsbluff Country Club.

Emily Krzyzanowski of Gering beat Anna Kelley of Scottsbluff for the individual title by 4 strokes, 71-75.

State golf will be held next Monday and Tuesday.
