NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - In a Trailblazer Conference showdown, Beatrice and Nebraska City met Thursday night to kickoff the 2025-26 season and both Beatrice squads come home with a win. 

The Lady Orange topped the Pioneers 45-35, while the Orangemen rolled to a 71-42 victory. 

The Lady Orange were led in scoring by Kylie Hatcliff with 18 points, followed by Callie Schwisow with 12. The Beatrice defense caused problems for the Pioneers as Beatrice forced 18 turnovers. 

The Orangemen were led in scoring by Harrison Vetrovsky with 26, followed by Boston Crawford with 12. Beatrice used a big second half to pull away, outscoring Nebraska City 39-16 in the final 16 minutes. 

Both Beatrice teams return home on Saturday to host Ashland-Greenwood in home opener action.
