Bike flips over at U.S. 136 and South 66th Road

BEATRICE – A southeast Nebraska motorcycle accident sent one person to a Lincoln hospital with a head injury…Wednesday afternoon.
A motorcycle operated by a male went out of control on U.S. Highway 136, about four miles east of Beatrice.
The accident at U.S. 136 and South 66th Road sent Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rural Fire and Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies to the scene. The motorcycle that overturned on the highway ended up on the westbound lane.
Authorities say the rider, 50-year-old Jason Duff, of Beatrice, was eastbound on the highway and came over a small hill, where a vehicle was slowing to make a left turn. Duff applied the brakes, but his 2005 Harley Davidson began to slide, going out of control.
Backed up traffic was directed through the area. Duff was taken by ambulance to Bryan West Health Center in Lincoln. A Beatrice fire captain said the he was in stable condition at the time of transport. The rider was not wearing a helmet.
The accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. The scene was cleared and normal traffic resumed at about 4:10 p.m.
