Christina Lyons named 'Education Friend of the Month', for work with Teammates Mentoring
The Beatrice School Board named a familiar face around Beatrice "Education Friend of the Month" Monday night.

Christina Lyons is the latest "Education Friend of the Month" for her work with the Teammates Mentoring chapter, where she serves as a coordinator. Teammates Mentoring is a school-based mentoring program that matches young people with one-to-one mentors.
Beatrice School Superintendent Jason Alexander said the Beatrice Chapter of Teammates Mentoring was named the Southeast regional chapter of the year at the Teammates Mentoring recognition banquet and received the reading literacy grant for the third time.
In addition to her work with Teammates Mentoring, Lyons is a columnist for the Beatrice Daily Sun.
