BEATRICE, Neb. - A serious crash in Beatrice left one dead and two hospitalized Saturday night. 

Just before 10:00 p.m., Beatrice Police and Beatrice Fire and Rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7th and Monroe streets. 

According to a Beatrice Police Department press release, the crash involved a 2011 Dodge Avenger, driven by a 16-year-old juvenile male, and a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 45-year-old Amanda Ames of Beatrice. 

Police say Ames was airlifted by StarCare to Bryan West in Lincoln, where she was declared deceased from her injuries. The juvenile male driver, along with a juvenile male passenger, were transported to Beatrice Community Hospital to be treated for injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by BPD, Nebraska State Patrol, and Beatrice Fire and Rescue.
