EXCLUSIVE: John Cook talks retirement, future of Husker Volleyball

Husker Volleyball Head Coach John Cook met with the media Thursday as he makes the transition to retirement.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Husker Volleyball Head Coach John Cook met with the media Thursday as he makes the transition to retirement. 

"I don't know that where was a light bulb moment, it was just a feeling," Cook said. "I came in to Troy and told him I think we needed to start thinking about a succession.. Talking to Dani (Busboom-Kelly), the time felt right."

Cook noted some of his favorite memories at the helm, such as setting the women's sporting event attendance record, when 92,003 packed Memorial Stadium for Volleyball Day at Nebraska and numerous program honors.
