BEATRICE – An arrest has been made by Beatrice Police after investigators looking into narcotics distribution had obtained two search warrants involving a suspect’s residence and place of employment.

Police obtained the warrants about a week ago. On Monday, November 25th...police served one of the warrants at a convenience store where 48-year-old Michael Boyd was working.

An officer detained him at the counter of the business and conducted the search, finding a glass smoking pipe in his pocket with white residue, wrapped in paper towels. They also recovered a small zipper pouch, allegedly containing two micro-baggies…one containing what officers determined was methamphetamine…and the other, with light traces of meth residue.

The suspect was taken by police to his apartment for which the other search warrant was obtained. A search of the apartment yielded what police said were multiple meth smoking items, two digital scales with white residue, about 150 unused micro-baggies, a half-dozen unused syringes and four micro baggies containing marijuana.  One of the paraphernalia items field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Michael Boyd was taken to the Gage County Jail…arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug money and possession of drug paraphernalia.
