WYMORE, NEB. - It’s a special day a small town in southeast Nebraska as their latest establishment serves as a beacon of town pride.
The Heritage Inn in Wymore is officially open.
“It’s glorious… We had a great day and we hope everyone comes to Wymoe to enjoy the inn.”
Rebecca Cherny is manager of the Inn located in the heart of downtown Wymore. Work began on the building about a year and a half ago, when the inn began accepting donations of town antiques. They also received a grant from the city for landscaping work.
The inn is also attached to Wymore’s only coffee shop, which has begun to see their fair share of regulars.
“We get little coffee clutches, one group of people’s here at seven, then eight thirty,” Cherny said. “All morning long we have groups coming to enjoy the coffee shop.. There’s been no place to do that, so we’re building community with coffee.”
Wymore Mayor Collin Meints hopes the inn is an attraction for people to visit Wymore.
“Hopefully the facility is used quite a bit,” Meints said. “Hopefully the building kicks off bringing people back to the community and seeing things can be done in the community.”
