Beatrice Police arrest pair after controlled purchases of drugs

BEATRICE – An investigation that included a prearranged purchase of narcotics has resulted in the arrests of two persons on drug and weapons charges, in Beatrice.
Beatrice Police say 36-year-old Katherine Graham has been arrested for two counts each of drug distribution, possession of drug funds, having no drug tax stamp….and one count of possession of a firearm during a felony.
24-year-old Tyler Dixon was arrested for drug possession and possession of a firearm during a felony.
Law officers conducted two controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Graham for a total of $600. The purchases took place at a convenience store property and at a dollar store property. Authorities say the drugs purchased amounted to over 13 grams of methamphetamine…and in both cases, the substances purchased field-tested positive, as meth.
The undercover purchases took place on August 18th and August 22nd.
Following the second purchase, law officers conducted a traffic stop on a Lexus sport utility vehicle in the one-hundred block of South 8th. Graham exited the vehicle and police said she was holding $400 in cash from a controlled purchase. Police recovered a short straw with a crystallized substance from Dixon…which tested positive for methamphetamine.

A search of the Lexus recovered a 38-caliber handgun with a bullet in the chamber, located in a small backpack on the front passenger floorboard. Police said the gun was within reach of both suspects.
Police said a crystallized substance was found in a black tool case…and several other drug-related items were found inside the vehicle.
Both suspects reside at a home in the ten-hundred block of Paddock Street. Both are in custody in the Gage County Jail.
