Laverne Heye Meints passed away on June 7, 2024 in Kenesaw, NE. He was born on September 20, 1938 in Beatrice to Friedrick "Fred" Meints and Friedericka "Frieda" Johanna (Gerdes) Meints. On January 16, 1965, he married Marilyn Dawson in Marysville, KS. He grew up on a farm near Blue Springs and was a farmer for most his life.

Survivors include sons, David Meints and Chris (Jodi) Meints; daughter, Shirley Edwards; sisters, Darlene Scheideler, Maxine (Loren) Trauernicht, and Judy (Oran) Obering; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn Meints; brother-in-law, Robert Scheideler; and son-in-law, Blake Edwards.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

These services have been entrusted to the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore.
