WASHINGTON, Kan -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office assisted Clay County authorities in a highspeed chase Monday involving speeds exceeding 100 mph, erratic and reckless driving, and several vehicles being run off the roadway.

Washington County authorities joined the chase as the suspect's vehicle, a  2022 Ram 1500 pickup, entered the county heading north on Highway K15.  Stop sticks were deployed near Linn, but were unsuccessful, with the suspect's vehicle going off the roadway to avoid them.  Around 10 a.m., when the suspect reached the south side of Washington, near Industrial Park Drive, the suspect's vehicle lost control and entered a ditch where it collided with an embankment causing it to go airborne and rollover.

The occupants of the vehicle, all of Bellevue, Washington;  Robert Allen,  Rylee Linders, and a female juvenile were all injured in the accident and transported to the Washington County Hospital.  Neither of the adult occupants were wearing safety restraints.

During the investigation, it was found that the driver, Robert Allen, had a felony warrant out of Washington State for escape from custody and assault.  Allen, who is currently in the custody of the Washington County Sheriff's office is also facing multiple pending charges from Monday's chase.   The incident is an ongoing investigation.
