Cindy R. (Mumford) Essam, 66, of Beatrice, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024.  She was born on September 11, 1957 in Beatrice to Oliver Dean and Ida Marie (Honnor) Mumford.  She grew up in Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School. She worked at the Big Blue Auction, which was her parents’ auction house. Cindy worked for Weigel Jewelry for 16 years, owned her own porcelain doll making shop, and worked at CASA. She was a member of Women for Racing at the Beatrice Speedway and the Gage County Fair Board, both for many years. She enjoyed crafting, fishing, camping, card games, board games, listening to the Joker Band and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter, Dezi (Dave) Ebbers of Western; son, Shane (April) Essam of Beatrice; grandchildren, Brayden Ebbers, Rylan Ebbers, Lilly Ebbers, Logan Kreft, Rylie Kreft, and Tayven Essam; sisters, Shirley Turner of Virginia, Judy (Gilbert) Buhr of Beatrice; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Dean and Ida Marie (Honnor) Mumford; brother-in-law, Bill Turner; nephew, Kent Turner.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Pastor Clayton Lundstedt officiating.  Inurnment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery of Diller. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing.  A book for signatures will be available on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from noon until 8:00 P.M.  and the family meet and greet relatives from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home.
