BEATRICE – Tuition will be increasing for students coming to Southeast Community College starting in August. 

SCC Administrative Director for Marketing and Communications, Stu Osterthun says the schools’ board of governors was split on option selected.  By a 6-5 vote, tuition and fees will go up by a total of $2 per semester hour…for resident and non-resident students. 

The current per-semester hour tuition and fees totals $121.  The SCC board also approved new room and board rates.

Following a closed session, the SCC Board meeting at the Lincoln Campus on Tuesday approved a new two-year faculty contract, for 2024 through 2026. The agreement includes an overall compensation increase…..salary and benefits….averaging 4.6-percent…..inline with a past agreement and comparable with other community colleges. 

The SCC Board also approved the purchase of two lots in the Timber Creek Subdivision next to the Milford Campus of the college, at a price of $130,000.  The property was acquired for use in expansion, in the college’s building construction program.
