Severe weather hit Kearney Thursday afternoon bringing rain and hail to the area.
KEARNEY, Neb. -- Severe weather hit central Nebraska Thursday afternoon bringing rain and hail to the area.
Thursday's storm brought widespread hail that was reported between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Kearney area.
Some hail was bigger than the size of a quarter. There were hails stones larger than golf balls that reportedly fell northwest of Kearney.
Even larger hail stones, some the size of baseballs, were reported south of Hastings.
Hastings was where a possible funnel cloud was reported southeast of the town of Roseland after 7 p.m. There were no reports of a tornado touching down.
A second wave of severe weather Thursday evening brought more large hail in Garfield and Valley Counties, where reports of crop damage came in late Thursday.
Father west, wind gusts as high as 67 miles per hour were reported in Lincoln County.
