LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two women were arrested for assaulting police officers in Lincoln on Saturday - one for biting an officer and another for punching an officer.
On Saturday around 2:22 a.m., the Lincoln Police Department said they were called to a vehicle stopped in traffic near 14th and O St. that had its hazard lights flashing.
When officers tried to speak with the driver, 22-year-old Fiona Walker, they said she sped away almost hitting a second officer in the street.
The vehicle was then stopped near 13th and N St. at which time police said they identified Walker as the driver, who police said appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
LPD said Walker refused to get out of the vehicle, and had to be removed by additional officers.
According to police, Walker later refused to do a breath test and was taken to jail.
Walker was cited for a DUI with a prior conviction, refusal of chemical test, willful reckless driving, and resisting arrest.
LPD said that once they had Walker at the jail, she refused to exit the rear seat of the police cruiser and Corrections Officers helped remove her from the vehicle.
While trying to get Walker out of the cruiser, police said that she bit a Corrections Officer on the face near the jaw line.
Walker allegedly left an obvious bite impression on the officer's face, after reportedly holding the bite for four seconds.
Walker was also lodged for assault on an officer.
Later Saturday morning, around 3:13 LPD said they had another assault on an officer.
LPD was called to a report of a fight between two women in the 3700 block of Chadd Court.
When officers arrived, they said they separated a 28-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman, who were reportedly fighting in the driveway.
According to the police department, after separating the two, 28-year-old Mariah Willams tried to push past officers to restart the fight.
LPD said that when officers continued to block Williams' path, she reportedly punched one of the officers in the face.
Authorities said that the officer that was hit used their pepper spray, and Williams was taken into custody.
Williams was treated by Lincoln Fire & Rescue for the pepper spray contamination and lodged in jail for assault on an officer.
