LINCOLN, Neb. -- Four out of five teens were arrested for an alleged robbery in Lincoln Thursday.

The Lincoln Police Department said that they were dispatched to a residence in the area of Blue Flame Road and Torchlight Lane for a weapons offense.

Officers with LPD said they had spoke with the 20-year-old female victim who said she and her 16-year-old passenger were in the area making a food delivery when she saw three teen males walking in the cold.

It was reported the woman offered the teens a ride due to the frigid temperatures.

LPD said the woman told them that once inside the vehicle one of the males took out a handgun and reportedly struck her in the head several times.

The woman and her passenger were reportedly ordered to get out of the vehicle, a Toyota Prius, which then left the area.

LPD said investigators continued to follow-up on the investigation and they found the stolen vehicle later in the afternoon because it had been involved in a single vehicle accident near 25th St. and P St.

After the crash, police said fives teens fled from the vehicle by foot. One of the teens was reportedly armed with a handgun, which police said he discarded as he fled.

Four of the five teens that fled were apprehended after a short foot chase, according to authorities.

LPD reported the teens ranged in age from 15 to 17. They were arrested and lodged in the Lancaster County Youth Services Center for various offenses including robbery and weapons violations.
