Lincoln motorcyclist dies in crash Monday evening

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a crash that killed a 29-year-old man.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a crash that killed a 29-year-old man.

LPD said a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Cornhusker Highway and approaching a green light on N 35th Street on Monday at 6:35 p.m.

Officers said an eastbound Sedan was in the left turn lane on Cornhusker Highway and N 35th Street. The Sedan, reportedly driven by an 18-year-old Lincoln woman, made the left turn in front of the motorcycle.

According to authorities, the motorcyclist, 29-year-old Pierce White, died at the scene. The LPD Fatality Crash investigators closed the intersection of N 35th Street and Cornhusker Highway for several hours in order to continue investigating. They asked that the community avoid the area.
