Early August projects announced by NDOT

BEATRICE — A bridge repair project and two railroad crossing projects in southeast Nebraska will be starting in early August.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation says an August 1st start date is planned on a Nebraska Highway 8 bridge repair near Salem, Nebraska....west of Falls City. 

NDOT officials say a Milford, Nebraska company will make the bridge repairs and traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals. The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph and there will be a 10-foot width restriction along with a 9-ton weight restriction. The project is expected to take 60 days.

Two rail crossing repair projects also begin in early August.....one of them August 2nd…on a Burlington Northern-Santa Fe line on Spur 55F, west of Roca. BNSF crews are doing the repairs, expected to take two days to complete.

A railroad crossing project will begin August 4 on Spur 55G west of Hickman.  That crossing repair work is also being done by the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway.  The work will take two days. 

There will be marked detours for both crossing projects.
