Teen arrested in connection to assault

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities said they responded to a weapon assault Wednesday night.
Lincoln Police Department said that around 7:30 p.m. May 25, they had a 17-year-old male arrive at a local hospital with a grazing gunshot wound to the left side of his head.
LPD said that 17-year-old was transported to the hospital by a friend, and the injury is not considered to be life-threatening.
Officials said that officers determined the victim and some of his friends met up with a group of individuals in the 7300 block of A Street, after a social media feud between the groups.
Authorities said that at some point a male wearing a mask over his face exited a vehicle with a handgun and shot at the vehicle the victim was in, striking both the vehicle and the victim.
LPD said that a 15-year-old male allegedly appeared to be the suspect and was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
Officials said that due to firearms being involved, the Lincoln Police Department SWAT Team was used.
LPD said, ultimately that the 15-year-old was lodged in the Lancaster County Youth Services Center for second-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.
