Randall (Randy) James Swartz of Endicott, Nebraska passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the age of 69 years old. He was born May 22, 1950 in Fairbury, Nebraska. He was the son of Dale & Opal (Pickering) Swartz.
Randy attended school in Endicott through his Sophomore year. When Endicott closed, he transferred to Fairbury High School where he graduated in 1968. He worked for 32 years for the Jefferson County Highway Department.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes & pitch, fishing, listening to country music and working on cars and projects with his 3 sons. He loved to watch Husker Football and Volleyball. He will be remembered by his ornery smile and many funny sayings he loved to share with all his friends and family.
Survivors include his three sons, Quentin & Karen Swartz, Joshua & Jody Swartz, and Ryan & Jamie Swartz all of Endicott; his 9 Grandchildren Amanda, Alexa, Kelsea, Jayleigh, Chase, Deegan, Makiah, Kyler & Jessa; and his 5 Great-Grandchildren Jace, Rilee, Peyton, Gracie & Asher; his Sister LaVon Ashby and Sister-In-Law Cheryl Prescott of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brother, Brother Roger Swartz, Sisters Sharon Kapperman & Colleen Grammer, and Brother in Laws Gene Kapperman and Bob Grammer.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, August 10 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. A private family burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial to the Endicott Park Fund.
