The Kimball Longhorns are coming to strongly dislike the colors purple and yellow. Last weekend they were held to runner-up status in the WTC Tournament by the Bridgeport Bulldogs, and Tuesday night both teams fell to Pine Bluffs in hard fought match-ups.

The ladies game was a close battle with foul trouble emerging early for both teams. Ultimately, the strong play of junior Kadee Bruns and senior Aly Comer, among others, was too much for a longhorn team that lost starter Addy Olsen in the final quarter when she fouled out. The lady hornets won 48-43.

In the boys game, Pine Bluffs took an early lead and never gave it up. Juniors Gabe Federer and Cade Fornstrom led an aggressive offensive effort against a longhorn team that had trouble defending without drawing fouls. The longhorns were able to get the shots in needed to win the game but they were not falling for the WTC runner-ups. The hornets won 59-47.
