Carolyn S. Messner

Carolyn S. Messner, 77, of Beatrice, passed away Sunday night, December 7, 2025, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center.  She was born on January 2, 1948, in Fort Leavenworth, KS, to Dale and Florence (Miller) Jerman.  Carolyn graduated from high school in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1966.  She served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1967.  On March 3, 1967, she married Manfred C. “Fred” Messner.  They lived in Beatrice as Fred worked for Agrium.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society of Beatrice.  Carolyn enjoyed bird watching, doing ceramics, and being with her grandchildren.     

Survivors include her sons, Manfred D. (Kathy) Messner and Chris (Kristi) Messner; seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Tara), Kaitlyn (J.P.), Paquin, Christian, Caden, Cashton and Colbie; brother, Terry (Judith) Jerman; brothers-in-law, Jim Messner and Albert Messner; nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, who died on April 9, 2016; parents, Dale and Florence Louise Jerman; brother, Ralph Jerman.

Private inurnment services will be held at a later date at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.  Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation.  www.foxfuneralhome.net   Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice.
