Firefighters battle structure fire south of Firth, fire marshal to investigate cause

An investigation is underway into the cause of a structure fire in northern Gage County.

FIRTH, Neb. - An investigation is underway into the cause of a structure fire in northern Gage County. 

Firth Volunteer Fire Chief Doug Doeschot says firefighters were dispatched to a fire in a machine shed, about three miles south of Firth around 10:00 a.m. Monday morning. 

Crews from Firth Volunteer Fire, Beatrice Rural Fire, Cortland Fire/Rescue, and Adams Volunteer Fire all responded to the scene. 

As of early afternoon Monday, the fire had been contained. 

Doeschot says the Nebraska State Fire Marshall will investigate the scene to determine a cause. 

No injuries occurred.
