Gage County Sheriff's Department hiring for new deputy sheriff

GAGE COUNTY, Neb. - A southeast Nebraska sheriff's department is looking to add to their force. 

The Gage County Sheriff's Department is now accepting applications for a new deputy sheriff. The department currently has 34 positions, 17 held by sworn deputies including investigators, school resource officers, and special services. 

The department says certified law enforcement applicants are preferred, however those needing certification will be sent to the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center for the 16 week basic academy class.
