Several Southeast Nebraska student resource officers attend NASRO conference

Several School Resource Officers from Southeast Nebraska are taking time during the summer to better their skills of serving the community and their schools.

BEATRICE, Neb. - Several School Resource Officers from Southeast Nebraska are taking time during the summer to better their skills of serving the community and their schools. 

Officers are currently attending the 2025 National Association of School Resource Officers Conference in Grapevine, TX. The conference is celebrating it's 35th year, with the goal of learning best practices for school safety, sharing experiences with other SRO's from around the country and learning about the updates in the law. 

Area SRO's attending include:

-Nate Van Anne (Jefferson County Sheriff's Department - Tri County, Meridian)

-Reed Horky (Jefferson County Sheriff's DepartmentFairbury)

-Michael Hager (Gage County Sheriff's Department - Freeman, Diller-Odell, Southern)

-Brittney Ruh (Beatrice Police Department - Beatrice)

-Courtney Brauch (Beatrice Police Department - Beatrice)

The event began on Sunday July 6, and runs through July 11.
