BEATRICE, Neb. - A southeast wrestling team at a school in southeast Nebraska program is getting into the Fourth of July spirit to help their program.
For the fifth year in a row, Beatrice wrestling is selling fireworks at their tent at the Indian Creek Mall on the north side of town. Beatrice wrestling coach Jordan Johnson says the goal is provide more opportunities for the young athletes through various camps.
"We use it as an opportunity for kids to go to camps," Johnson said. "If they work enough hours, they can go to one camp for free and maybe get some hours off another one, we give them sweat shirts and sweat pants for working it and it's just a good opportunity to get some money and give back to the kids."
Johnson says they want any kid who attends Southeast Community College's camp to attend for free as its local. He also says it's also good for team bonding during the summer.
Wrestlers will be selling fireworks until July 4.
