Motorcycle misses curve on highway

BEATRICE - Two motorcyclists were injured Sunday when their Harley Davison flipped, south of Cortland.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office says the bike’s operator, 66-year-old Lee Prewett, of Lincoln, was life-flighted by medical helicopter to a Lincoln  Hospital, for life-threatening injuries.  A second person on the motorcycle, 66-year-old Crystal Prewett, was taken by Cortland Fire and Rescue ambulance to Bryan West Medical Center, for her injuries.

Sheriff’s Officers say the couple’s motorcycle was northbound on U.S. Highway 77 around a curve near Nebraska Highway 41, when theh bike went off the roadway and flipped.

The Sunday accident happened at around 5:30 p.m.
