Second graders earn "Mayor For a Day" honors

BEATRICE – Second-grade students who helped clean up their community got their picture taken with Beatrice Mayor Bob Morgan, at Monday night’s city council meeting.


They were the annual Mayor-For-a-Day winners in the Great American Cleanup Recycling Project. In mid-April, the students collected items to be recycled, helping keep areas of Beatrice clean. The second graders from public and private schools received certificates from Keep Beatrice Beautiful and the City of Beatrice….T-shirts, food certificates from local restaurants and KBB promotional items.
