Evelyn Ruth (Luehring) Kreiensieck, 98 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on March 31, 1927 to Louis and Helen (Eipper) Luehring who lived on a farm northeast of Washington, Kansas. At an early age, her parents and Evelyn moved to a farm 2 ½ miles southeast of Hanover, Kansas where her grandfather, August Luehring had lived. She attended Bismarck Country School and Hanover High School where she graduated in 1946 as salutatorian of her class. For several years, Evelyn worked at McGrades Manufacturing at Marysville, Kansas before her marriage. She married Harold Gene Kreiensieck on February 20, 1949 at Zion Lutheran Church at Hanover, Kansas and two daughters were born to this union, Debra Ann and Beverly Kay. They farmed around Hanover, Marysville and Barneston before moving to Beatrice in 1963. They joined Trinity Lutheran Church at 9th and Elk. Evelyn babysat and did custom sewing and alterations. She sang in the church choirs most of her life. Evelyn grew many flowers and arranged them for church and shut-ins. She helped with Willing Workers of the church until her eyes didn’t let her. Evelyn was a member of the Beatrice Quilt Guild and made many quilts for family and friends. She like crafts of all kinds and did a lot of woodwork for the family including cradles, quilt racks and hall trees. 

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Deb Doehling and husband Mark of Surprise, Beverly Robinson and husband Jo Ed of Beatrice; grandchildren, Dustin Robinson, John-Michael Robinson, Christina Doehling; great granddaughter, Aubree Robinson; sister-in-law, Pat Luehring of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold on August 21, 2010; infant brother, Daniel Louis Luehring; brother, Lester Luehring; sister, Rose Ann Sloan and husband Ted; brothers-in-law, Ernest Kreiensieck and wife Martha, Charles Kreiensieck and wife Julie, Hank Kreiensieck and wife Lorraine; and sister-in-law, Henrietta McDonald and husband Richard.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Hanover Cemetery at Hanover, Kansas. There will be no visitation but a book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday, April 28, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice.
