Crete Area Medical Center names Julie Lacy new CEO

A hospital that's a key part of a major statewide health system has its new leader: Crete Area Medical Center has named Julie Lacy its new CEO.
After six months acting as interim CEO, Lacy gets the interim tag removed and ascends to the top title at CAMC.
A graduate of both Nebraska and Nebraska-Omaha, she's been part of the Bryan Health system since 2017, with a stop at Merrick Medical Center in Central City before she moved over to Crete to serve as the chief financial officer and now, chief executive, of a hospital that is celebrating 75 years of service in 2025.

Julie Lacy Named Chief Executive Officer at Crete Area Medical Center
Lincoln, NE (April 23, 2025) – Julie Lacy has been named the new chief executive officer at Crete Area Medical Center (CAMC). She assumes the position after serving as interim CEO for the past six months.
“Julie’s commitment and significant contributions demonstrate that she has the experience and vision to lead Crete Area Medical Center,” said Patrick Ganyo, system vice president, rural services, Bryan Health. “She brings extensive skills in leading clinical, financial and human resources teams. Her unwavering willingness to take on new challenges make her the ideal choice for this role.”
Lacy joined Bryan Health in 2017. Over the past nearly two decades, she’s held various leadership roles within the health system, including:
· Chief financial officer and interim chief executive officer, Crete Area Medical Center
· Interim chief executive officer, Merrick Medical Center
· Senior tax analyst and accounting manager, Bryan Medical Center
Prior to her time at Bryan, Lacy earned her bachelor of business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She later obtained her executive master of business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Crete Area Medical Center is celebrating 75 years of providing care in 2025. The facility’s been named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the nation by The Chartis Center for Rural Health the last two years. Crete Area Medical Center is a 15-bed critical access hospital with clinics in both Friend and Wilber.
