Mid-afternoon storms on Wednesday bring small hail to Nebraska and Kansas

BEATRICE - Southeast Nebraska and Northeast Kansas were under severe thunderstorm warnings at mid-Wednesday afternoon.
Storms dropped pea-sized to penny-sized hail in Southeast Nebraska, including Beatrice….where small hail fell for about fifteen minutes starting at around three p.m.
Dime to quarter-sized hail fell near Linn and Greenleaf, Kansas.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Jefferson and Gage Counties in Nebraska, and Washington and Marshall counties in Kansas.
The storms weakened considerably as they moved farther north into Nebraska.
The National Weather Service in Topeka issued a flash flood warning until five p.m. for parts of Marshall and Riley Counties, in Kansas.
Two to three inches of rain fell in those counties with another one to two inches possible.
