Maddie Reace West was born into the presence of Jesus on April 10, 2025. She knew no pain - only warmth and love. She always knew when dad and mom were talking or little sisters were around. She squirmed when her daddy tickled mommy's tummy, and loved the chatter of her sisters' voices. She loved when mommy would eat cottage cheese and anything sour (completely opposite of her older sister, Miley). "But Jesus called the children to him and said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.'" (Luke 18:16) God opened his doors to Baby Maddie and Jesus opened his arms and holds her close, which provides hope to all who knew and loved her in her short time on earth.

Maddie is survived by her daddy and mommy, Chris and Kaylee (Van Winkle) West of Beatrice; sisters, McKenna and Miley; grandparents, Jeff and Lorie Van Winkle, Jim and Syndee West, and Cathy Hayden; uncles and aunts, Jake Van Winkle and Ava Lovitt, Austin and Lexi West, Sami West and Max Thompsett, Sean Hayden, Connor Hayden, Jalan Fields, Jacob Oblinger, and Emalee Maxson; great grandparents, Ron and Vickie Spitsnogle, Betty and Jerry Van Winkle, and Carla Schwahn; many many cousins; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.
