Lancaster County crash ejects driver, leaves one hospitalized

BENNETT, Neb. - One person is in the hospital after an SUV rollover crash south of Bennett, Sunday night.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. near 162nd and Hickman Road.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the Chevy SUV was heading north when they lost control, over-corrected and ended up in a ditch. The SUV also hit a power pole, knocking out power for the entire village.
LSO said the driver was taken to the hospital with critical, but non-life threatening injuries and that the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Seatbelts were not believed to be in use.
Both Norris Public Power District and Nebraska City Utilities were at the scene to work on the power pole. In a social media post, Nebraska City reported that they were the ones working to restore power.
