Randy L. Agena, 70, of Beatrice died Thursday, March 27, 2025.  He was born on May 9, 1954, in Tecumseh to Harm and Dorothy (Mattox) Agena. Randy grew up in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in1972.  He attended Wesleyan University in Lincoln and later graduated from Doane College in Crete.  Randy married Kate Kennedy on April 8, 1978, and they were blessed with a son and daughter.  On September 10, 2010, he married Teresa Miller at Christ Lutheran Church. He had a heart to serve others, working for Health and Human Services for many years. Upon his retirement, he continued that service by volunteering for the Salvation Army and delivering Meals on Wheels. You could also find him attending car shows, spending time with his dog, Rex, and enjoying coffee with friends. Randy was a collector of many things including toys, coins, and sports cards. Being outdoors was a love of his. He spent time hunting, fishing, and caring for his farmland. Randy also had a love of sports, especially the Huskers, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Jay Husker Auto Club.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Agena of Beatrice; son, Greg (Shawna) Agena; daughter, Tracy (Jesse) Pella and their children, Cooper, Frannie, and Maybry; step-sons, Nathan (Ashley) Miller and their children, Braylin and Brooklyn, and Nick (Lacey) Miller and their children, Jackson and Carly; step-daughter, Kristen (Jordan) Bloomquist and their son, Camden; brother, Les (Sue) Agena; sisters-in-law, Donna Armstrong  and Pauline Maschmeier; nieces and nephews; former wife, Kate Agena.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cohen Pella; parents, Harm and Dorothy Agena; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Schuster and Donald Armstrong.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor Mike Williams officiating.  A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Wednesday at the church.  Cremation has taken place.  A book for signatures will be available on Tuesday from noon until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family for future designation.   www.foxfuneralhome.net   Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
