James Bryan “Jimmy” Blankenau

James Bryan “Jimmy” Blankenau, 64, of Beatrice passed away on Friday, March 14 ,2025, at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on October 26, 1960, in West Point, Nebraska to William and Rita (Roberts) Blankenau.
Survivors include his siblings, Gary (Camilla Lystrand) Blankenau of Gothenburg, Sweden, Lori (Doug) Wood of Seattle, WA, Annie (Jim) Blankenau-McCall of Seattle, WA, Dan (Monica) Blankenau of Lincoln, William (Angela) Blankenau of Manhattan, KS, Joe (Monica Snowden) Blankenau of Lincoln, Diane (Rich Roberts) O’Neil of Alamosa, CO; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rita Blankenau; niece, Maya Blankenau.
Due to health challenges, Jimmy spent most of his life at Beatrice State Developmental Center. Though distance separated them, his parents and siblings always kept him close in their hearts, cherishing the profound lessons he taught them about the beauty and worth of differently abled individuals. With his gentle, serene presence, Jimmy embodied the highest calling of all—a life devoted to reflecting God's love. By allowing others to care for his every human need, he allowed them to see the face of God's unconditional love, both to believers and those without the gift of faith.
His family will forever be grateful for the compassionate care he received at Beatrice State Developmental Center. The warm-hearted, dedicated, and professional team who looked after Jimmy reminded us that kindness and goodness truly exist in this world.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beatrice with Father Joseph Faulkner, Celebrant. A scriptural rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday prior to Mass. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Dodge, NE. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no viewing.
