Construction set to begin on river bridge near Fairbury

BEATRICE — Weather permitting, work will start next week, Monday, March 17^th  on U.S. Highway 136, west of Fairbury in Jefferson County.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation says Bridges, Inc. is the prime contractor for a Little Blue River bridge project that will include bridge deck and rail replacement, along with mainline paving.

Traffic will be maintained with the use of traffic signals and will include a 12-foot lane restriction. Expected completion of the project is October of this year.
