John E. Faxon, 92 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. He was born on June 19, 1932 at Odell to Egbert and Blanche (Shalla) Faxon. John graduated from Odell High School in 1949. He married Audrey Bartlett on May 29, 1955 at the Ellis United Methodist Church. John farmed in the Odell area all of his life until retirement. He was a member of the Ellis United Methodist Church and a former member of the Odell Coop Elevator Board, Odell rural fire district board, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #531 and former trustee of Odell United Methodist Church. John enjoyed driving the countryside, showing and raising livestock, sports, word searches, crossword puzzles, cards and especially attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. 

John is survived by his children, Sarah McMahon of Salina, Kansas, Dianne Faxon of Lincoln, John Faxon and wife Teresa of Odell, Margaret Schotte and husband Steve of Marysville, Kansas, Steve Faxon and wife Janet of Beatrice, Sheila Bargman and husband John of Beatrice, Edward Faxon of Beatrice, Thomas Faxon and wife Paula of Odell, Amy Morgan and husband Jon of Gretna; grandchildren, Samantha McMahon and significant other Caleb Hines, Lindsay Mares, Kailey McMahon, Crystal Brincks and husband Jason, Melissa Friedrichs and husband Ryan, J.D. Faxon and wife Payton; Austin Schotte, Zach Schotte, Maggie Schotte and fiancé Zach Otott, Derek Faxon, Jill Faxon, Hannah Greco and husband Nic, Meredith Rosenberry and husband Nate, Turner Faxon, Ashley Labenz and husband Jacob, Logan O’Connell and fiancée Ali Janssen, Macy O’Connell, Beau Morgan, Jaxon Morgan; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey on September 3, 2018; son-in-law, Bob McMahon; great granddaughter, Cami Friedrichs; sister, Vona Lou Jones and husband Don; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Bartlett and Beverly Finch.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, February 21, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Hollis Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 PM Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice.
