Beatrice Public Schools losing activities administrator

BEATRICE – Beatrice Public Schools will be losing a key administrator to retirement.

The resignation of Gus Brown was accepted Monday night, by the Beatrice School Board.  He has served as Athletic and Activities Director and Assistant Principal at Beatrice High School.

Brown came to Beatrice in the summer of 2021 after serving for 12 years as the activities director for Valentine Public Schools. He also coached several sports and taught physical education during his career.

Also planning to resign from the Beatrice Public Schools at the end of this year are high school counselor Jennifer Prososki…elementary special education teacher Darci Haraldson and district behavior coordinator Jennifer Haynes.

The district named as its Employee of the Month for February, Missy Timmerman.  She leads the Beatrice Community Preschool Program and is a Principal at Beatrice Elementary School.   As of yesterday, the preschool has 205 third and fourth graders.

Named as the Business Friend of the month was R.J. and Edie Crandall, who own a chiropractor practice in Beatrice.  They were honored for their support of the district…both volunteer and financially …including helping district athletes.
