LINCOLN, Neb. - Numerous sources have confirmed that Nebraska is set to hire Mike Ekeler as special teams coordinator.

Ekeler, a David City native, previously coached with the Huskers from 2008-2010 as the linebackers coach. This comes after former Nebraska special teams coordinator Ed Foley parted ways with Nebraska last month.

In a rough year for special teams, the Huskers had numerous blocked kicks, muffed punts, and blown coverages on kick and punt returns.
